Ich meine, wie man auf Englisch folgendes sagt: "Kannst du langsamer sprechen?"

Ihr denkt vielleicht, ich hätte keine Ahnung, aber ich möchte wissen, welche der beiden richtig ist:

1. "Can you speak slower?"
2. Can you more slowly oder slowlyer?

ich glaube du könntest beides sagen und man würde dich verstehen.



1: ist aber insofern nicht korrekt, weil du ein Adverb für das Verb speak benötigst.

'slower' ist die Steigerung zum Adjektiv 'slow' (slow - slower - slowest) und



2.

'more slowly' ist die korrekte Steigerung zum Adverb 'slowly' (slowly - more slowly - most slowly).

nicht slowlyer-existiert nicht!



Da du aber jemanden bittn möchtest langsamer zu sprechen udn ihn nicht fragst ob er dazu in der Lage ist



Would you speak more slowly, please?

oder

Would you slow down, please?

Es ist beides nicht direkt richtig, weil beide Sätze nicht in der Höfllichkeitsform stehen.



Am besten sagt man immer:

Could you speak a little slower, please?



"Could" ist immer höflicher als "can"!

UInd ganz wichtig, in deinem satz:

Could you PLEASE speak slower? Engländer sind sehr höfliche Leute, ein Please kommt immer gut. Sonst klingt der satz für sie etwa: kannste mal langsamer sprechen!?

Umgangssprachlich kannst Du die erste Version durchaus verwenden. Auch wenn "Could you speak slower, please?" prinzipiell höflicher wäre, so macht doch in der gesprochenen Sprache in erster Linie der Ton die Musik. Ein nettes "Can you speak slower?" ist einer gegrummelten Höflichkeitsversion allemal vorzuziehen. ;-)

grammatikalisch richtig aber nicht gebräuchlich (da unhöflich) ist Dein Vorschlag Nr. 1.



Höflicher wäre "Sorry, but could you speak a bit slower, please"
